ABOUT
Little Buckaroo’s Day Camp is a children’s horse camp run by Julie Gilliland and Stephanie Tschirhart of Imlay City, Michigan. In June of 2009 the camp accepted a total of forty students. Here children learn how to groom, care, and ride the horses. All of the Little Buckaroo day camps focus on the basics of roping, cattle work, trail safety, and horsemanship.
Little Buckaroo's Day Camps are grouped by age and experience. Beginners are grouped ages 4 to 6 or 7 and ages 7 or 8 to 12 together. Experienced youth who take lessons, or own their own horse, are put together in a horsemanship clinic the following week. The clinic includes working with cattle, horsemanship skills, trail safety, and barn visits.
The last day of the camp the parents get to see their children ride. They Participate in a fun show, enjoy a horse drawn hayride, and then feast on a barbecue lunch.
